While consumers can purchase their own residential tanning beds, the cost may be too high. It may be more convenient simply to visit a tanning salon that features commercial tanning beds. Of course, if you own a tanning spa franchise or are planning to start one up you will need to research purchasing commercial tanning beds in order to satisfy consumer demand.

Commercial tanning beds start at approximately $2000. They can sell for as much as $7,000. If this seems like too high a price to pay all the ones, financing is usually available.

In addition to purchasing commercial tanning beds, spas will also need to invest in replacement lamps. Replacement lamps are much less expensive and can cost as little as $15. Also, make sure to invest in dressing room spaces and other decorous items that make your customers feel comfortable as they prepare for their tan.
